Westport’s Bedford Middle School was recently recognized as a 2009 recipient of the National Blue Ribbon Award. Administered by the U.S. Department of Education, the designation is part of a federal program which recognizes schools that are academically superior or demonstrate dramatic gains in student achievement to superior levels. Bedford is among eight schools in the state of Connecticut to win the award, three of which are public schools. Read more

Children’s Halloween Parade Scheduled for Oct. 28
Westport’s children’s Halloween Parade will be held on Main Street on Wednesday, Oct. 28, the Parks and Recreation Department has announced.
The parade, scheduled to kick off at 3 p.m., is sponsored by the Parks and Recreation Department, the Westport Downtown Merchants Association and the Westport P.A.L. Read more
